La Tourangelle Partners with Yolo Farm to Fork Initiative

La Tourangelle is challenging the Woodland food and agriculture business community to raise $100,000 to support children’s education and build edible school gardens through Yolo Farm to Fork’s Growing the Next Generation campaign. The La Tourangelle Foundation has already committed the first $30,000! Through this partnership with La Tourangelle and The City of Woodland’s The Food Front, Yolo Farm to Fork seeks to bridge the gap between industry and our youngest community members. Bilingual gardening activities, guided in English and Spanish, are designed to generate curiosity by exposure to Woodland’s strongest industries – food and agriculture.

Following La Tourangelle’s 3-P Business Model – People, Planet, Profits – we invite you to join our campaign to strengthen the Woodland community by supporting children, teachers, and families while we Grow the Next Generation of agribusiness leaders focusing on our community’s low income children and families. Three local businesses have already heeded the campaign call, including Nugget Markets, Pacific Coast Producers, and Syngenta!

When you join our community fundraising effort, your contributions will:

• Develop Garden Discovery Kits using Food Front partners products during distance learning

• Build 2 new school gardens at Gibson Elementary and Lee Middle School

• Sustain 10 school edible gardens already growing produce for student meals

• Support children and teachers with in Garden-to-Classroom learning materials

• Provide cold storage for school garden produce

Yolo Farm to Fork is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating students on the importance of growing good food. Based in Woodland, California, Yolo Farm to Fork engages local students by teaching them to grow and maintain edible gardens.
