Ingredients
-
9-inch premade (or homemade) vegan pie crust
- 226g (2 bars) - semi-sweet chocolate baking bar, roughly chopped
-
80g (1/3 cup) - La Tourangelle Roasted Hazelnut Oil
- 200g (1 cup) - granulated sugar
-
120g (1/2 cup) - non-dairy milk
- 1 teaspoon - vanilla extract
- 180g (1 1/2 cup) - all-purpose flour, fluffed, spooned, and leveled
- 30g (1/3 cup) - Dutch-processed cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon - instant coffee/espresso powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 130g (1 cup) - chopped hazelnuts
Directions
- Parbake the pie crust according to the directions. Set aside to cool.
Add the chocolate and La Tourangelle Roasted Hazelnut Oil in a heatproof bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time, mixing each time until melted and smooth.
- Combine the sugar and non-dairy milk in another heatproof bowl. Microwave for 1 minute or until the sugar has fully dissolved. You should get a syrupy milk mixture.
- Combine the milk mixture, vanilla extract, and melted chocolate together. Whisk until well combined.
- In the same bowl, add in the flour, cocoa powder, instant coffee, and salt. Fold until there is no pocket of dry flour left.
- Then add in the chopped hazelnut and continue to fold the batter.
- Lastly, pour the batter into your parbaked pie crust, and bake the pie for 30-35 minutes or an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before serving! Enjoy!
