Ingredients
- Mixed lettuce greens
- 8 figs cut in half
- 1 Shallot minced
- Spicy hazelnuts (recipe follows)
- Manchego cheese
- 2 tbsp of Balsamic, fig, or another sweet vinegar
- ¼ cup of La Tourangelle Hazelnut Oil

Salt and pepper to taste

½ cup of hazelnuts

½ cup of sugar

1 tbsp cumin

1/8 tsp cayenne

1/8 tsp white pepper

1 tbsp butter
Directions
- Melt butter in the pan. Add spices and mix well. Add nuts, coat well and then add sugar, mixing well. Spread nuts on plate with wax paper to cool, making sure they are not all clumped together.
- Oil grill pan lightly with olive oil and let it get hot but not smoking. Place the half figs flat and leave on grill for a few minutes until grill marks are showing then remove and put aside. Mix olive oil and vinegar and add salt and pepper. Add chopped shallots and let sit for 5 or 10 minutes. Toss salad then top with grilled figs, spicy hazelnuts, and Manchego cheese.
